Better Rates. Better Fees. Better Value.
It’s Better Banking.
GFA is more than another financial institution. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we are entirely designed to put our members first. When you join, you aren’t just a customer — you’re a member-owner.
A CREDIT UNION — FOR ALL OF LIFE’S MOMENTS
Unlike traditional banks that answer to outside shareholders, credit unions return profits directly to their members. This structural difference creates unique advantages for your wallet, your experience, and most importantly, our community.
Top Three Benefits of Joining a Credit Union
Here’s the breakdown of what it means to be part of a credit union where your needs are among our priorities.

1. Better Rates
Since we operate as a not-for-profit, our surplus funds go right back to you. Seriously. Members routinely enjoy higher APYs on savings accounts and checking accounts along with lower interest rates on vehicle loans, mortgages, and credit cards.
2. Better Fees
We believe your money should stay in your pocket. Our credit union is built to serve, which means you experience significantly fewer fees, lower monthly maintenance costs, and friendly terms compared to big commercial banks.
3. Better Value
At our credit union, your voice matters. Every member owns an equal share of the financial cooperative and has a direct vote in the way things are run. For example, you can elect our volunteer Board of Directors. Be as involved, or hands-off, as you’d like.
